It's Officially Ours

Here are some pics of our new place. We went over there today to move some of our stuff in.
I absolutely love it! They left us their piano which Brett is really excited about and their washer and dryer which I am really excited about :) Enjoy!

Yes it is Yellow

Cute White Cuboards

The Dining area with the cute PIANO!

Love this fireplace

I've never seen tile like this up walls but it's everywhere in this place.

Very narrow, leads to all the rooms.

They just put in new carpet everywhere its very luscious.

Rylee's First Birthday

Brett got me Rylee clear back in March when we were first dating. Talk about commitment! Since then she has been the sweetest, cutest, and fun little dog for the both of us. We have both fallen head over heels for this sweet pup and as much as we hate to admit it sometimes our life revolves around her. She loves us unconditionally and has put up living in several different places sometimes with several different people. Rylee has truly been a blessing for me. She picks me up when I am sad, listens to everything I have to say (including my darkest secrets), plays with me when I am hyper, and my absolute favorite...she cuddles with me all the time. Even though she doesn't look like a puppy anymore to me her fun personality is still the same and I know Brett and I have loved having her in our family so far. We LOVE you Rylee! Happy Birthday!

Rylee really loves pictures. This is her "looking off into the distance with a thoughtful face" pose.

Rylee got this new Tiger thing for her b-day and absolutely loves it! She carries it everywhere she goes!

Quotable

I took Brett to In N Out as a special treat one day before he had to go to school. We had decided to meet each other there and since I got there first I was supposed to order. I finally got up to order where I found two girls standing at the register. Apparently one of the girls was being trained (ugh, automatic long wait). Our order didn't seem to difficult to me but looking back on it I will admit it was pretty difficult. I wanted a single with no tomato, add onion, Brett wanted a double with tomato AND onion. We both wanted fries and both wanted half strawberry half chocolate shakes. I had NO idea that this was going to be something that was going to put the girl that was being trained on the edge of tears as she tried to figure it out. The girl training her finally pushed her aside and just did it for her. After several minutes I paid and waited for my food. While I was waiting I heard this "We got a complicated order over here, a complicated order." I started to smile and laugh because my friend and I had just been talking about that and I decided that it must be a thing to quote if you work at restaurant since she and her crew of workers quote it at work too. I had no idea however that the complicated order they were talking about was mine. They called my number and were laughing and continuing to quote this clip so I approached and said "Excuse me but I think I am the one with the complicated order..." They all smiled and thought I was so clever and even offered to walk my stuff to my table for me. I guess they were just grateful I was able to bring some humor into their monotonous routine in fast food life. I hope you enjoy this clip as much as Brett, my Dad, I and everyone at In N Out Burger do.

Our New Home

Well it is official, we are MOVING! We just moved into our first place in September and we are moving already. To make things more difficult we will be moving AGAIN in April for Brett's job. I need to back up though. We are currently living in a wonderful spacious duplex that was built this year and we absolutely love it and we are completely spoiled by all of its new appliances, carpet, flooring etc. I honestly never imagined my first place to be so beautiful! However this place does come with a price and that price was RAISED just this month. Apparently our landlord doesn't have zoning to rent out both the upstairs and downstairs to two separate tenants. We are currently living in the upstairs and a cute little family is living below us. He called and told us we essentially had two options; 1. Pay for the whole unit and then have the family below pay us every month or 2. Move. I have to admit it is a blessing in disguise because he is letting us out scott free of our year long contract. This way we don't have to pay for the place over the summer while we aren't living in it or worry about renting it out when we are gone. Luckily Brett's co-manager just finished buying a new house out of town and had been planning on renting out his house that he had here in town. Brett hurried and called if we could be the lucky couple to rent. He of course said yes and to sweeten the deal said we wouldn't have to have a contract or have to pay over the summer while we are all gone! Yee haw! Oh and Brett loves that it has an APX alarm in it already too ;)
(this is where we are moving, pretty cute eh?)
I really have mixed feelings about this move. I love where we are located so close to my brother and cousins and of course eating establishments, grocery stores, and my job. I also LOVE our ward here and was finally getting to know some of the sweet people. However I am excited to pay less expensive rent, move into a more practical place, and have a free place to store our stuff every summer. According to Brett we are going to be in this house until we get one of our own so it looks like this will be our HOME for the next few years. The good thing is, its still close to the freeway, its way closer to my school, and its in a younger family neighborhood with people closer to our age. Only problem is its kinda far away from town and all my favorite shopping places (i.e. Target) and my family. The other crappy thing is now I have to PACK a bazillion things because now I have my stuff and Brett's stuff, thank goodness no kids yet. We are planning on being in our new place the beginning of January, it will be a great adventure for the both of us and I am sure it will only bring us closer.

Christmas Tree

Brett's Uncle brought us a real Christmas tree to have this year. It smells so good! The night we got it Brett just HAD to decorate it. So we put the lights on. We then realized neither of us knew how to do this and the lights we bought didn't have the connectors at the end so we have three chords plugged into the same outlet...firehazard. In order to fix the lights we called Brett's dad. He came and worked his magic which was essentially saying "No they look great!" Flicked a light and then it honestly looked better. Crazy. Brett then wanted to put up the star. We don't have a ladder or a chair high enough so my first thought was he was going to play buddy the elf and jump up on the tree. Instead he decided to jump up the wall. It worked and he was safe so I am happy.
Father and Son. So proud of their work.
Brett's mom made us these adorable stockings. I LOVE them!
Here is the final project. No nice ornaments or decorations yet. Maybe when we have been married 15 years. :)

can you spot the three chords plugged into the wall? I sure as heck can...they drive me crazy

New Addiction

I think I had made a post about one of my more embarrassing addictions which is checking Craigslist daily just in case there is some kind of deal I am missing out on. Well that addiction has multiplied and almost turned into something more on the Obsessive Compulsive side. I now have up to five websites/blogs that I HAVE to regularly check every day, and sometimes if I am bored I check again. Brett teases me about this constantly but I like to think its his fault because it developed while I have been sick with a cold (going on almost 2 weeks now) I got from him. Take THAT Brett!

Here are the daily five...in order that I have to check them.
www.gmail.com
www.facebook.com (don't judge)
www.hilnjer.blogspot.com (at this point I am usually checking up on all the other blogs too but it starts out with this one. This is my sisters blog by the way.)
www.craigslist.com
www.capturedbymikki.com (this one developed while waiting for my wedding pics to surface on to her blog, now I just love to see what else she has done)
www.stefandbrett.blogspot.com (I know this one is mine but I check to see if it has changed anyway. Who knows Brett may have surprised me again with another post.)

There you have it. I. Am. Lame. Good thing I start working tomorrow maybe it will help with the separation because this HAS to stop!

I better go start over on my website rounds. Something NEW could be up!

reader discretion: its really not as bad as I have made it sound I am not crazy. yet...

Boys will be Boys

Only pictures can fully do this post justice.

Tuesday morning at 12:00 am was the video game release of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2. Brett ran to Walmart and grabbed himself a copy. He then preceded to play until 3 in the morning. These pictures are from the next day. He didn't even move when I placed this game on his lap for his picture... obviously he is enjoying the game.

This is Brett's sweet game set up. The only thing missing is his chocolate milk that he brought out. I really love this guy.
